This week is unusually dense with major drops across genres and continents. Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae follows up her critically acclaimed album Fountain Baby with the new album Black Star, which features collaborations with PinkPantheress, Charlie Wilson, and Naomi Campbell. South Africa’s Shekhinah follows with Less Trouble, her first project in four years.

Atlanta rapper Gunna releases his new album, The Last Wun, his first album since the highly successful One of Wun, with features from some of Afrobeats’ biggest names: Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake.

The singles market is also buzzing. Mavo’s track “Escaladizzy II,” which has been gaining momentum online, gets a major boost with new features from Zlatan, Shallipopi, and Ayra Starr. In an unexpected but exciting collaboration, Victony teams up with veteran artist Terry G for “Tanko.” Nonso Amadi also makes his return with the new single “Pillow,” while Wurld and Marioo collaborate on “Lighter.”
