After a surprise announcement in December 2025, Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Asake have released the first single, “Jogodo,” off their forthcoming joint EP, Real. The duo first announced their sudden joint project, set for release last December, but delayed it until January 2026.

Produced by Magic sticks, “Jogodo” was first teased on the Apple Music Radio show with DJ Tunez and has finally dropped, rapidly climbing the charts. This marks Wizkid and Asake’s fourth collaboration. With the EP set to be released soon, 2026 might be a year of hot records from the serial hitmakers.

After a successful debut album release in the previous year, Mavin superstar Magixx begins 2026 with a new single, “Everyday.” The latest song is a reflective track marked by themes of gratitude, hope, and aspiration.

On the international scene, American artists Gunna and Chris Brown have teamed up on the remix “WGFT Remix.” With the original record featuring Burna Boy garnering wide acclaim, the remix is expected to do even better with the addition of Chris Brown.

2026 promises cross-continental collaborations, as American trap rapper NBA Youngboy enlists Burna Boy on “Teary Eyes.” Also beginning the year with his first single, Burna Boy teams up with Sporty to drop a release for the Sporty community with the release of “For Everybody.”
