With the second half of the year officially underway, listeners can brace for more expansive music and experimental sounds. This week’s Fresh Out opens with singer Khaid with the release of his EP B4R&W. The 21-year-old singer earlier this week drew attention on social media with a snippet of his track “Wacko Play” off the latest project.
Another internet sensation is rising artist Solana, who has been rapidly gaining traction across social media with snippets of her highly anticipated single “Okunkun.” And finally, the Yoruba pop-inspired track, in collaboration with producer Killertunes, has been released. South African star Tyla may question the authenticity of love, yet she shines vocals on her new release, “Is It Love.”
The music industry is rife with collaborations, but is there anything better than a cross-continental collaboration between two heavyweight acts? Long-time collaborators Chris Brown and Wizkid find themselves on Breezy’s new track “Man On A Mission,” off his forthcoming project. On the African contingent, Mama Africa, Yemi Alade calls Kenyan star Bien for a romance-led track, “Don’t Be Shy.”
FirstKlaz is on the run again, and this time, he returns with an EDM vibe on his latest release, “Tsammani”, with South African producer JAZZWRLD. At a time when the country faces sociopolitical and economic challenges, Nigerian rapper and activist Falz issues a stern warning to concerned parties on his new single “Ole.”
Other entries this week include collaborations from LAX and TML Vibez, Semzi and Scottyolorin, among others. This week’s Fresh Out is groovy, experimental, and reflective. Find all tracks below for your listening experience.
