Move Afrika is an initiative aimed at creating job and entrepreneurship opportunities, and enhancing health systems for Africa’s emerging generations through an annual series of live music events.

The 2025 edition of the Move Afrika tour will focus on strengthening health systems across Africa. Global Citizen, along with its partners, will urge African nations to increase domestic health financing, prioritize primary care and sexual and reproductive health and rights, and alleviate financial burdens to strengthen public health.

Moreover, this edition builds on the success of the premier edition, Move Afrika: Rwanda, held in December 2023 at the BK Arena. Headlined by Kendrick Lamar, it featured Zuchu, Bruce Melodie, DJ TOXXYK, Sherrie Silver, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi King, and Bruce the 1st.

It also continues the legacy of Global Citizen events like Mandela 100 in Johannesburg with Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Ed Sheeran; Global Citizen Live: Lagos in 2021 featuring Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Femi Kuti; and Global Citizen Festival: Accra in 2022 with Usher, SZA, Stormzy, and Tems.
