'Iyawo Mi' and 'Her Perfect Life' by Mo Abudu debuts on Apple TV

Nigerian filmmaker Mo Abudu is set to make a splash with, her first directorial projects. The psychological short films Iyawo Mi (My Wife) and Her Perfect Life are headed to Apple TV shortly.

Mo Abudu made this announcement on her social media page shortly after revealing the commencement of production for Blood Sisters season 2.

The gripping Yoruba-language film Iyawo Mi tells the harrowing story of Kunle, a young husband from downtown Lagos. His life spirals into chaos when his wife, Eniola, begins hallucinating and threatens their family and neighbors in a nightmarish frenzy.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Nollywood stars Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola, Segun Arinze, and Jude Chukwuka. This poignant portrayal of mental health and family breakdown in the heart of Lagos illuminates underrepresented issues within African cinema.

The film stars South African actress, Pearl Thusi and Joseph Benjamin, with supporting performances by Omawunmi Dada, Uzo Osimpka, Christian Paul, and Mary Lazarus.
