Founded by NATIVE in 2016, NATIVELAND is now in its fifth edition — after a four-year gap —and continues to be a hub for African youths all over the world to gather and feel the pulse of the Nigerian music scene.  It has grown into a prominent subculture working to center the brightest talents both in mainstream and underground music. As a potent microcosm of contemporary youth culture, it is where music is interwoven with fashion, art, and a palpable sense of community.

As with past editions of the festival, last year’s NATIVELAND saw a great number of music enthusiasts excited to enjoy performances from the headliners — Ayra Starr, Lancey Foux, Uncle Waffles, ODUMODUBLVCK.  The organisers consciously curated a lineup that included acts like Brazy, Cruel Santino, Shallipopi, JELEEL!, DNDSection, DETO BLACK, BOJ, Odunsi (The Engine), Bloody Civilian, Lifesize Teddy, Rigo Kamp, Len, DEELA, Kold AF, SGaWD, Odeal. OraeTheGreat, the rapper who won the Nativeland x Hennessy freestyle competition also joined the superstar crew on stage.

NATIVELAND’s resurgence marked not only the revival of a celebrated festival but also the revitalisation of a cultural movement. Last edition reinforced the festival as one which has effectively become a canvas for the multifaceted expressions of creativity that define the Nigerian culture scene.

Watch out for NATIVELAND 2024.
