Many Things – Zinoleesky

Zinoleesky came into the Nigerian music scene with a bang, but seemed to tail off after a while. However, since the release of his 2022 Grit & Lust, he has gained another gear. He releases “Many Things” on the back of the success with “Party No Dey Stop”. His latest release sees Zino in an introspective mood, detailing the dynamics of his life and his craft. He got it right with this one and it’s already one of the significant releases of this quarter.

Let Them Know – Wande Coal

Wande Coal is gearing up for the release of his Legend or No Legend album, even though he’s pushed it back a few times. Maybe it’s not the right time, but while we wait, he’s treating us to more good music, this time with “Let Them Know”. Wande rides the beat sweetly, finding pockets within the infectious bounce provided by Kel P. It has whet my appetite for the album and I’m sure “Let Them Know” will have the same effect on others.

Trumpet – Olamide, CKay

Olamide taps up Ckay for this new record, titled “Trumpet”. The YBNL boss has been overseeing the successes of his signees, but he shows that he still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Ckay provides a good balance with his performance, and the record’s production is familiar territory for him. He rides the uptempo bounce perfectly, and his chemistry with Olamide is evident in the visuals of “Trumpet”. It remains to be seen what this means for Olamide — project soon?

Earth Angel –  Suté Iwar, Ogranya

Suté Iwar releases his eagerly anticipated project, Ultralight. Earlier this year we caught up with the rapper about the project, who said Ultralight is him at his most complete state. It clearly sounds like that on “Earth Angel”, weaving patterns through the record’s boom-bap beat. Introspective as usual, Suté’s words make you feel him in your heart and this is one you don’t want to miss. 

Change Your Life – L.A.X, Konshens

L.A.X returns with a new project, an album titled No Bad Vibes. He’s always been an artist capable of putting together great songs, he has a decent record in that regard. On “Change Your Life”, L.A.X shows that once again. Konshens is his guest on track 2 of his project and they form good synergy on this sweet, tropical record.
