AFCON 20: A Guide to Bosso's Flying Eagles

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will be attempting to present Nigeria’s first trophy in 2023 by clinching the AFCON 2023, which is set to take place from February 19 to March 11,2023.

However in bid to do so, the final roster for the Nigerian under-20 national team competing in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has been released by Flying Eagles head coach Isah Ladan Bosso. Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique, the second debutant, were drawn as opponents for Bosso’s team in the Under-20 African Cup of Nations. Senegal, who finished second in 2015, 2017, and 2019, as well as the tournament’s host, who triumphed in 1981, 1991, 2003, and 2013, make up the group of death.

However, the coach downplays the concerns of his team, claiming that the group from which the Flying Eagles were drawn is “tough”. The Zambian Junior Chipolopolo were defeated 4 to 2 by the Bosso led side in a test game played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, demonstrating their readiness. Following the clash, Bosso has been busy burning all candles to select the best squad capable of delivering the nation its first triumph in 2023.

The manager, in a list released by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, have registered 21 boys for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which would begin on 18th of February in Egypt. The Flying Eagles, who have finished second in the FIFA World Cup twice and have won the bronze medal once, will play the Cub Lions of Senegal on Sunday, February 19, at 9 p.m. Egypt time. Facing Egypt on Wednesday, February 22nd, and Mozambique on Saturday, February 25th, both at the same venue.
