Blazing Stars have emerged as the champions of the Unilorin Football League for the 2021/2022 season. Their victory came after a hard-fought match against FC Zeus, which ended in a one-nil win, courtesy of a goal by Muritala Abdullateef.

This historic triumph marks Blazing Stars’ first-ever title in their history, and they achieved it under the leadership of Jimoh Toheeb. Notably, they also created a setback for FC Zeus, who were seeking their own moment of glory under the guidance of coach Abiodun Olosho. FC Zeus had previously finished as runners-up last season, losing by a lone goal to City Boys, and they now faced another loss in the final.

In the third-place playoff, H-High FC secured victory with a lone goal scored in the first half by Afolabi. Despite JAD’s strong lineup and efforts on the day, they couldn’t conjure up a podium finish.

The season’s award winners were also celebrated, with Muritala Abdullateef of Blazing Stars being named the Player of the Season. Fashanu Michael from FC Zeus claimed the Highest Goal Scorer title with nine goals, while Abiodun Olosho of FC Zeus was honored as the Coach of the Season. The Goalkeeper of the Season award went to Adams Josiah (JoJo) of JAD FC.
