Sporting Lagos settles for a draw against Doma United. Get the details of the closely contested game and Sporting Lagos' unbeaten streak.

Sporting Lagos faced a tough challenge today in their NPFL Matchday three encounter played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. The Noisy Lagosians aimed to return to their winning ways but had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Doma United. This result came after Sporting Lagos secured a valuable point against Akwa United in their previous outing, with Coach Edward Green standing in for Paul Offor.

While Coach Paul Offor returned to lead the team today, his side couldn’t secure a victory that would have propelled them to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The early moments of the game saw both Sporting Lagos and Doma United displaying industrious efforts. However, Sporting faced misfortune when they lost two of their key players before the half-hour mark. Ekene Olisema came in as a replacement for Patrick Egeonu, and Isaac Annor was also brought in for Chisom Orji.

In the 37th minute, Lokosa had an excellent chance to break the deadlock but was denied brilliantly by the Doma United goalkeeper. The goalkeeper continued his fine form by denying Akpesiri from the rebound.

The first half saw Lokosa come close to scoring, as he rose the highest to meet a whipped corner, but his header narrowly missed the target.

In the 59th minute, Sporting Lagos made one more change from the bench. Fan-favorite Jonathan, popularly known as Barbie Boy, and Clement were brought in to replace Rivio and Akpesiri.

Christian Nwoke delivered a fantastic performance, making two brilliant saves from point-blank range in the 62nd minute during a Doma United counterattack. This impressive display marked Christian Nwoke’s third consecutive clean sheet, and Sporting Lagos remains unbeaten in the NPFL.

The next challenge for Sporting Lagos is a South West derby against Remo Stars, where they will aim to regain their winning form.
