World champion Noah Lyles, rolled up to the 2023 USATF Awards dripping in diamonds and sporting a plush velvet suit, a testament to his luxurious lifestyle and the fruits of his athletic labor. His arrival in a Rolls Royce was just the cherry on top of a night where he was crowned the USATF Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year for the third consecutive year.

Lyles had a 2023 season that was nothing short of extraordinary. He snatched triple gold at the World Championships in Budapest, etching his name into the history books as the third American man to complete a sprint triple, joining the ranks of legends Tyson Gay and Maurice Greene.

His golden path included a blazing 9.83s in the 100m, a scorching 19.52s in the 200m (his third consecutive gold in the event!), and anchoring the US 4x100m team to a world-leading 37.38s, solidifying his triple crown.

But Lyles’ reign didn’t stop there. For the second year in a row, he remained undefeated in the 200m, clocking a staggering six sub-20 times throughout the season, including a world-leading 19.47s at the London Diamond League.

This display of versatility silenced any doubts about his abilities, proving that he’s not just a 200m specialist, but a dominant force across the entire sprint spectrum, from the 60m to the 200m.

Lyles’ arrival at the awards ceremony was a fitting reflection of his opulent achievements. He walked the red carpet like he owned it, his diamond chain and wristwatch glinting under the lights. His velvet suit, a luxurious choice from Hugo Boss, exuded an air of sophistication and bespoke success. It was a clear message: Lyles isn’t just fast, he’s arrived, and he’s doing it in style.
