Nigerian-American professional basketball player, Kehinde Babatunde Victor Oladipo, is making headlines for his crossover into pop culture. The 31-year-old NBA star, known for his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, is expanding his horizons by collaborating with African music talents.

 

Oladipo recently took to social media to announce his collaboration with prominent African artists. He joined forces with Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck. Additionally, he met with Ghanaian singer and rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, professionally known as Black Sherif, formerly Blacko.

The Maryland-born forward ‘s journey into the world of Afrobeats aligns with his transition in the NBA. This off-season, the Miami Heat traded the injured basketball star to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The move marks Oladipo’s involvement in the NBA free agency, changing teams from the Miami Heat to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

 

Oladipo has been a notable figure in the NBA, having played for three teams over the past six seasons, including his 2016–17 season with the Thunder.

 

The American’s ability to seamlessly balance his NBA career with his passion for music sets him apart. The 31-year-old NBA star released his new album, titled “TUNDE”, in the early hours of Friday, February 17, 2023.
