Nigerian music is racing into cinemas with the upcoming F1 The Movie soundtrack. Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Darkoo, and Obongjayar will feature on the film’s official album, which captures the speed and spectacle of Formula 1.

Titled F1 The Album, the soundtrack features 17 original tracks, with each of the Nigerian stars contributing one. They appear alongside global heavyweights like Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Don Toliver, and more. The album is set to drop on June 27 alongside the film’s worldwide cinema release.

The project is produced by Grammy Award-winner and Atlantic Records West Coast President Kevin Weaver, with the film directed by Top Gun: Maverick‘s Joseph Kosinski. Burna Boy and his peers are expected to elevate the on-screen performances of stars like Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Javier Bardem with their melodic contributions. The film also features cameos from all 20 drivers of the 2023 F1 season, including six-time champion Lewis Hamilton and four-time champion Max Verstappen.
