Conor McGregor’s foray into Hollywood has proven a hit, with the remake of “Road House” becoming the most-watched debut film ever on Amazon Prime globally. The action flick, which sees McGregor play the villain opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, attracted 50 million viewers in its first two weekends.

McGregor reportedly secured a record-breaking fee for his first acting role, surpassing figures commanded by Hollywood heavyweights like Dwayne Johnson.

The Irishman claims to have earned over £4 million for the part, where he portrays a character attempting to seize control of a Florida Keys bar from Gyllenhaal’s protagonist, a former MMA fighter turned bouncer.

This acting stint comes amidst a hiatus from the Octagon for McGregor, who hasn’t fought since his 2021 defeat to Dustin Poirier. Discussing his approach to acting, McGregor adopted a self-deprecating tone, admitting to feeling like a “beginner” on set.

Despite his newfound success on-screen with Amazon Prime, McGregor, the world’s highest-paid MMA fighter, is still strongly linked to a return to the UFC this year. Talks of a potential fight against Michael Chandler are swirling, though the organization has yet to confirm anything.
