Remo Stars vs Lobi Stars:

The first semifinal of the Naija Super 8 started with both teams avoiding early concessions. In the 15th minute, Seun Ogunribide of Remo Stars missed a chance, enabling Lobi Stars to counter-attack. Remo Stars then intensified the pressure and scored in the 24th minute through Dela Akorli. Remo’s goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, made crucial saves to keep Lobi Stars at bay. In the second half, Remo Stars quickly scored in the 47th minute through Nduka Junior to extend their lead. Lobi Stars went on to earn a penalty in the 61st minute, which Joseph Atule stepped up to convert, securing his position as the tournament’s leading scorer with three goals.

Sporting Lagos vs Akwa United:

Akwa United faced Sporting Lagos in an intense match. In the 9th minute, Jonathan’s shot narrowly missed the target. Both teams had scoring opportunities in the first 30 minutes, displaying an exciting brand of football. However, in the 40th minute, Cyril Olisema coolly converted a penalty to give Akwa United the lead. Sporting Lagos players and fans disputed the decision, but their appeal for a replay review was denied by the referee. In the 55th minute, Okon capitalized on being unmarked in the box and equalized for Lagosians. Fourteen minutes later, Emeka delivered a dangerous cross, which Jonathan headed home, putting Sporting ahead for the first time. In the 77th minute, Junior Lokosa made his debut as a substitute before the game ended.

Entertainment:

Immediately afte the end of first semifinal, Mavins young talent, Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, took the stage and captivated the crowd with his sensational hits. The electrifying performance by Crayon managed to momentarily transcend the rivalries on the field as fans came together in celebration of the talented artist. However, there was a slight disappointment as Seyi Vibez, who was expected to perform immediately after the second game, was noticeably absent. Despite this, Crayon‘s energetic performance ensured that the fans were thoroughly entertained, adding an extra element of excitement to the already intense atmosphere surrounding the semi final match.

The Final:

Remo Stars will take on Sporting Lagos for the second time in this year’s edition, having lost 2-1 earlier in the group stages. Fans will also be treated to great music display in the final.
