At the 25th Laureus Awards on Monday night, Novak Djokovic cemented his status as sporting royalty claiming the prestigious Sportsman of the Year award. The tennis champion received the coveted trophy from none other than NFL legend Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner himself.

The Serbian has now won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award for a record-equalling fifth time.

Djokovic’s triumph wasn’t the only highlight. Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles added another accolade to her overflowing trophy cabinet, this time for a phenomenal Comeback of the Year.

The night wasn’t just about the awards, however. The red carpet was a glittering display of glamour as sporting icons strutted their stuff. Lindsey Vonn, the record-breaking skier, turned heads with her dazzling ensemble, while skateboarding prodigy Rayssa Leal proved she’s a force to be reckoned with both on and off the board with her stylish choice.

Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati was named the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham won the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award. Bellingham was also among the stylish athletes gracing the red carpet.

The Awards were a true celebration of sporting excellence, both on the field and on the red carpet.
