Symphony- TikTok’s New AI-Powered Suite a Game Changer for Creators

TikTok has introduced a new music discovery feature called “Sound Search” that enables users to find songs by singing, humming, or playing them on the app.

Not only does Sound Search identify songs, but it also retrieves short-form videos featuring the searched song. This makes it an upgrade to YouTube Music’s song detection tool and the long-standing Shazam, which requires users to play the actual song.

If Sound Search isn’t available to you yet, you’re not alone. TechCrunch confirmed that it was released to selected users over the weekend and will be rolled out to the wider TikTok community in the coming weeks and months.

While the tool performs admirably with widely recognised songs, reports indicate that it struggles with lesser-known tracks. Despite this, its ability to identify popular TikTok-specific sounds with little to no effort positions it as a strong competition for other established music discovery platforms when it launches worldwide.

The Sound Search feature has an additional layer of resourcefulness owing to its ability to go beyond searching songs. It can be used to identify sound clips or specific types of audio, helping users discover audio origins.

To access the Sound Search feature, users simply go to the search bar, click the microphone icon, and select “Sound Search.” This straightforward method aims to streamline music discovery on TikTok, making it both simple and intuitive.

This new feature trails the launch of TikTok Symphony, an AI-powered content creation suite that has been heralded as a game-changer for content creators.
