British-Nigerian artist Odeal has released “Miami,” a standout single featuring Grammy-winning R&B star Leon Thomas. The track is the opening number on Odeal’s introspective EP, The Summer That Saved Me, blending UK R&B, Afroswing, and Alternative R&B sensibilities.
The collaboration proved to be an organic mesh of styles, with Thomas’s R&B expertise complementing Odeal’s Afrobeats-laced soundscape. Produced by Harry Westlake, the track’s minimalistic guitar-driven beat allows both artists’ vocals and the evocative songwriting to take center stage.
