After months of brewing, CBA for Africa 2026 cohort artist Onikan has finally unveiled her debut project, Saturn EP. Since emerging in the music scene in 2021, the Abuja-based indie artist is now ready to immerse the world in her Afro-fusion sound, drawing on alt R&B, soul, jazz, and Afrobeats. Following previously released singles “Lies” (2023), “2nd Chance” (2024), and “Sirius” and “Surrender” (2025), Onikan begins a new chapter with Saturn, anchored by lead single “Fire & Ice”, continuing her pursuit of emotional truth through minimalism, silence and pacing that is built around spacious production, soulful vocals and subtle percussion.

Following four studio projects, Fireboy DML finally returns with his highly anticipated fifth body of work, ZUKO! Released under YBNL Nation and EMPIRE, the 13-track album acts as a grand display of his evolving artistry. In the hip-hop scene, rap star Blaqbonez dropped his wildly creative album NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, fueled by a blend of hip-hop and Afrobeats records like the contagious track “Ca$h Out”.

Riding on the success of pop anthem “Slick,” American stars Summer Walker and Don Toliver link up with Victony for a star-studded remix. Meanwhile, alternative rap artist Fimi keeps the underground pulsing with “Asiko,” delivering deep lyrical weight and intricate rhythms. While singer-songwriter Solana refuses to deem her momentum as she delivers a new single, “O rí mi”, cementing her unique ‘YoruPop’ framework with acoustic structures.

Winnerman pulls off a historic street collaboration by recruiting Afrobeats star Davido alongside Sabushebu for the explosive “Give Me Chance (Remix)”. Meanwhile, DJ 808 and Mavo link up to deliver a relentless dancefloor groove on “Shenk Me”. Rounding up this week’s entry, Alté pioneer Cruel Santino links up with Zaylevelten and Octobersrich for the frantic energy of “Big Drop”.

Other new entries include Scottyolorin, DaveTheOracle, Wave$tar on “Top Swag”, and oSHAMO with his new single “Something To Die For EP”. There you have it, dive into this week’s episode of Fresh Out!
