Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido is finally set to make his Coachella debut this weekend, performing on both Saturdays, April 11 and April 18, at California’s Empire Polo Club. He is the only Nigerian performer at the 2026 edition of the festival, which runs across two weekends, April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19.

The appearance was originally scheduled for 2019, but did not happen due to scheduling conflicts. Seven years later, the Grammy-nominated artist gets his moment on one of the world’s biggest festival stages.

Davido performs on the same Saturdays as headliner Justin Bieber, sharing the bill with other artists including Addison Rae, Giveon, SOMBR, and Fujii Kaze. Other headliners across the two weekends include Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, and Anyma.

Adding to the moment, Davido has also been unveiled as the cover star of YouTube Music’s “Coachella: Afrobeats” playlist ahead of his performance, further highlighting his role as one of the genre’s leading global figures.

Notably, Davido is the only Afrobeats artist on the 2026 bill, a steep drop in representation compared to last year’s edition, which featured Tyla, Seun Kuti with Egypt 80, Amaarae, and Rema. British artists PinkPantheress and Little Simz, of Kenyan and Nigerian heritage respectively, are also on the lineup.

The Coachella appearance comes in the middle of a busy stretch on the road for Davido. His ongoing 5ive Alive Tour has already covered stages across North America and Africa, and this spring moves through seven European cities. His last stop was the 13,000-capacity Olympic Arena in Barcelona, where he delivered a thrilling performance to a packed crowd. Upcoming dates include Lusaka, Zambia in May, and a London show at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14, which is already sold out.
