Stamina – Tiwa Savage, Young Jonn, Ayra Starr
This is one linkup I did not expect. It feels like a crossover episode of different worlds. But it’s a pleasant surprise as Tiwa Savage successfully builds chemistry with her guest artists. Ayra Starr and Young Jonn do well to uplift this record. “Stamina” holds catchy lyrics, synergy, and great vocal execution, so press play and listen.
Reckless & Sweet – Amaarae
We are finally in the era of Fountain Baby. Amaarae has been teasing her new project for a long time now and it seems like we’re edging ever closer to this new era of the “Fancy” crooner. “Reckless & Sweet” sees Amaarae dip into the bag that’s earned her several plaudits across different music spaces. As far as whetting our appetite for new music goes, Amaarae has achieved that.
Party No Dey Stop – Adekunle Gold, Zinoleesky
Adekunle Gold has become one of the top pop acts in Nigeria’s music space. In usual fashion, he ensures the production is top-notch as he enlists Kel-P and Monro for this record. Zinoleesky makes an appearance, which would be music to the ears of his fans as he puts in a good performance. AG Baby and Zino link up well for this one and you don’t want to miss it.
Philo (Remix) – Bella Shmurda, Nasty C
“Philo” did so well when it was initially released. It turned out to be a certified hit on Nigeria’s streets. The gospel has spread to South Africa and it prompted Nasty C to jump on the song. Now, whether you like it more than the original is a different conversation, but this version is a good song. Nasty C raps circles around the track and does it considerable justice. There are added elements to the song, like more ad-libs from Bella and a new bridge, to give it a good remix feel.
On My Grind – Bliizzy, Bizzonthetrack
Young artists Bliizzy and Bizzonthetrack have been lurking on the scene for a little while now. Between 2019 and now, they’ve continued to hone their craft and create innovate sounds. Today, they link up for “On My Grind”, a song about the chronicles of leveling up in the concrete jungles of Lagos. They do justice to the song and you should check it out.
