Two Years of Bounce FM, Through the Ears of These 6 Listeners

Today, as Bounce Radio marks its second anniversary, we asked six listeners what the station has come to mean to them, and more.

Radio listening experiences are a curious thing. Some are memorable, some not so much, but pretty much all are tied to particular moments that leave some kind of impression, great or small, on the people who listen.

For Bounce 89.1FM, those impressions have taken different forms for different listeners since October 2024, when it first hit the airwaves. Today, as Bounce Radio marks its second anniversary, we asked six listeners what the station has come to mean to them, and the shows and presenters that have made the Bounce experience special for them.

I started listening to Bounce FM about five months ago. A colleague of mine, Julius, used to tune in whenever he was around, and that was how I discovered it.

It’s largely about the music! It’s rare to find an FM station that plays so many trending songs, and I really enjoy that about Bounce FM.

I love how listening to Bounce FM makes my day more enjoyable. Whether I’m working, relaxing, or just going about my day, there’s always something interesting to listen to. It doesn’t feel boring or repetitive, and I always find myself looking forward to the next song or segment.

My favourite presenter is Chisom. I also really enjoy the Afrobeats music sessions and the news segment, “Hello, My Name Is Funmi.”

First off, fire mixes! As someone who has travelled a lot, you guys remind me of all the raves and festivals I’ve been to globally. I don’t know who your DJ is, but they need a raise. The selections from your OAPs are superb, too. I started listening to radio because of Bounce.

My favourite presenter is Nadine. I love her voice. I prefer the late-night sessions, when the mix is just on a loop or the DJ is doing their thing.

I started listening to Bounce some four months ago.

The presenters and the energy being delivered on air are what make it for me. I tune in whenever I’m at work for the vibes, music, entertainment and gossip. Radio Boyfriend Iremide and that Radio Babe, Chisom, are my favourites.

Let me start by saying congratulations to Bounce FM for two good years of unstoppable music.

Two years no be two days! Many happy returns, guys.

When I hear Bounce FM, the first thing that comes to mind is that it’s never boring.  Hearing different kinds of tunes is the best thing about listening to the station.

Since I started listening around December 2024, Chisom, that Radio Babe, has been my favourite presenter. My favourite session is Power Hour.

Happy anniversary, guys!

Chisom, Teacher and Writer

It’s the music for me.

I love listening to Bounce FM because, aside from the amazing OAPs at the station, the music is always fire and diverse.

Kudos to Chisom, Ada, KD, Nadine, and Mayowa. They are my people for life.

I came across Bounce FM 89.1 last year, around August 2025. Since then, I have been glued to Bounce FM.

I discovered Bounce while searching for something to listen to on the road. Chisom was doing her thing as I tuned in to 89.1, and that was how I got hooked on Afternoon Hit, followed by Morning Grind and the Drive Time show.

One of the best things about listening to Bounce FM is the vibe that comes with the music. From good music to good presenters who make the music memorable, there is always something to enjoy. My favourite presenter is Chisom from Afternoon Hit.
