Tyla’s “Water” is at a new No. 7 high on the Billboard 100 Chart, making the Grammy-nominated South African artist the highest-charting lead female African artist on the Billboard Hot 100. This impressive jump further extends the song’s run on the chart to 14 weeks.

The 21-year-old music sensation is steadily riding a wave of success that’s crested onto both local and international shores. Her rise on the Billboard Hot 100 has ignited speculation about whether she could potentially break Rema’s record of No. 3, the highest position ever held by a solo African artist on the chart.

“Water” is also a contender for the Best African Performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards. With her self-titled debut album set for release on March 1st, 2024, Tyla is ready for an even bigger splash.
