Xbox Game Pass subscribers are running out of time to unlock all NBA 2K24 achievements as 2K Games announces its departure from the service in August.

Although the basketball simulation game may not rank among the top Xbox sports titles, Game Pass members keen on NBA 2K24 will have just under six months to enjoy it before it’s removed from the lineup.

As per an image posted by the official NBA 2K Twitter account, NBA 2K24 will leave Xbox Game Pass on August 31, 2024. The fine print on the image reads,

“Available to Game Pass subscribers only through August 31, 2024. Terms apply. Notice before purchase of add-ons, DLC, consumables, virtual currency, or subscriptions: If your membership terminates or after the game is removed from the catalog on August 31, 2024, you must reactivate your membership or buy the game separately to continue using these items.”

NBA 2K games typically have a short tenure in Game Pass, so the news of NBA 2K24’s departure may not come as a surprise to fans of the series.

Previously, NBA 2K20 and NBA 2K21 remained in Game Pass for approximately six months, while NBA 2K22 lasted only four months. All of these titles were removed in August, just before the release of a new iteration of the basketball simulation game.

For completionists considering tackling NBA 2K24, it’s important to note that it’s a challenging task. Only four members on TrueAchievements have achieved the maximum 1,000G, and it has taken them hundreds of hours to do so. If you’re up for the challenge, you may want to consider attempting the Xbox One version’s stack, which offers five additional achievements compared to the Series X|S version.

On the topic of games leaving Game Pass, Microsoft recently announced that one of the titles scheduled to depart Xbox Game Pass in March will remain available on the service for the foreseeable future.
