Black women in sports are being celebrated in the January/February issue of the prestigious Essence magazine, and it features five-time world 100-meter champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Considered one of the best track and field athletes of all time, Fraser-Pryce will be competing in her sixth Olympics if she makes the Jamaican squad that travels to Paris.

The Kingston-born sprinter was featured on Essence, where she had an interview with @missjabali, discussing life both on and off track.

Fraser-Pryce, 37, looked lovely in photos she posted to her Instagram page to break the news. She dressed for the session in both Louis Vuitton and Nike clothing.

The track queen has already made headlines for lifestyle-related content. She stated in late 2023 that she had signed a multi-million dollar contract with Richard Millie, a watch manufacturer, to become one of their ambassadors along with other legendary athletes like Rafael Nadal and Mutaaz Barshim.

Given that Paris will mark Fraser-Pryce’s final Olympic competition, this indicates that she is laying the groundwork for her post-track career by increasing her visibility outside of the sports arena.
