BNXN has released the official video for his first track of the year, “Back Outside,” featuring master producer Sarz, marking his first offering since the success of his widely embraced project Captain.
“Back Outside” plays right into BNXN’s strengths. Built on a seamless blend of smooth, mid-tempo melodies and contemporary Afro-fusion rhythms, the track leans more heavily into a feel-good record. Here, BNXN sounds relaxed, delivering catchy, easy gliding vocals that sit comfortably on the beat. Sarz’s influence is unmistakable, with crisp drums, layered synths, and vibrant percussion.
The video, directed by New York-based filmmaker Khufu Najee-Ullah, mirrors that simplicity with a deliberate concept. Set largely on a football pitch, the visuals centre on a parked car placed right in the middle, around which both BNXN and Sarz move with quiet confidence. Whether posted around the car or taking in the view from the stands, the setting reinforces the song’s core idea of being fully outside and in control of the moment.
