Now, the Lagos-based artist delivers his definitive opening statement with the debut EP, Olayemi, released today, August 1, 2025.

Building on the momentum of foundational singles, from the chart-topping breakout “Awolowo” to the viral anthem “Joy is Coming,” Fido expands his narrative. The eponymous 8-track record centres on themes of identity, ambition and perseverance.

Speaking about the EP, its purpose and the future, Fido shared: Olayemi is my actual name, and it felt right to start my journey with something personal. This EP is the beginning for me. With this EP, I want people to understand that Afrobeats can still have new flavors and everyone can still enjoy good music on a spiritual level because my music is spiritual. This project makes me feel excited, for the levels I’m unlocking.”
