Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 is back on air after a rare five-hour blackout that started around 3pm on Friday, September 5, 2025, and left fans across Nigeria and beyond scrambling for updates on social media.

MultiChoice Nigeria, the show’s organisers, announced later Friday evening that the disruption was caused by a power issue affecting the live transmission. Viewers were reassured in a public notice that the housemates were “safe and sound” while technical teams worked to restore service.

“We’re currently experiencing a temporary break in Big Brother Naija transmission due to a power issue. Rest assured, the housemates are safe and sound,” the notice read.

The outage, one of the longest in the recent history of the popular reality show, sent fans into a frenzy online.

However, service was finally restored around 8:30pm with organisers confirming the return with a message to viewers: “Biggie’s 10/10s are back on your screens.🙌🏾 Thank you for your patience. 😮‍💨 The house is still standing, and your faves are ready to entertain.”
