Nigerian singer Ckay has officially joined Spotify’s billion-stream club as his global anthem, “Love Nwatiti (ah ah ah),” becomes the first solo Nigerian song to reach one billion streams on Spotify.

In a social media post made by Spotify on Wednesday, the 10th of December, 2025, Ckay was announced as the latest entry into the Spotify billion streams club, marking his song as the first solo Nigerian song to hit the milestone. This noteworthy success places the producer-turned-singer as one of Africa’s most-streamed artists of all time.

First released in 2019, and blew into a global TikTok sound in 2021, ‘Love Nwantiti’ became one of Afrobeats’ most defining exports. The song became the most Shazam’d song in the world in 2021.

With the latest milestone, ‘Love Nwatiti (ah ah ah)’ has become the second Nigerian song in history to pass the billion mark on Spotify. Making Ckay the second Nigerian artist to achieve this feat, behind Rema, who became the first Nigerian and African artist to hit the milestone in September 2023 with his global anthem, “Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez.
