Nigerian singer, Rema, has been confirmed as a performer at this year’s edition of the highest profile music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom, the BRIT Awards.

Rema will become the second Nigerian artist to perform at the BRIT Awards after Burna Boy performed at the award ceremony in 2018. In November, he became the latest Afrobeats star to sell out the O2 Arena.

The BRIT Awards, scheduled for March 2nd at the O2 Arena in London, will see Rema share the stage with some of the biggest names in music like Jungle, Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue and Raye.

Alongside Burna Boy, Tyla, Libianca, and Asake, Rema has also been nominated for this edition of the BRITs in the International Song of the Year category for his global hit “Calm Down”.

This track holds remarkable accolades, reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify, earning him the “Best Afrobeats Award” at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, and getting him the title of the longest-charting African artist on the Billboard Top 100.

The BRIT Awards is just one in a packed year for Rema. He is also slated to perform at major festivals like Wireless Fest and Afro Nation Portugal.
