Fans of Netflix’s South African Savage Beauty can look forward to the second season, which begins streaming on Friday, June 28, 2024.

The drama series tells a gripping tale of revenge, betrayal, and power. The story follows Zinhle (Rosemary Zimu), a young woman with a troubled past shared by her siblings. Her painful history traces back to Don Bhengu (Dumisani Mbebe), the CEO of a global beauty brand, and his wife, Grace (Nthati Moshesh), who exploited Zinhle and her siblings as children and are responsible for her sister’s death. Driven by vengeance, Zinhle, along with her brother Bonga (Mpho Sebeng), sets out to dismantle Don Bhengu’s world.

In an exclusive interview with Shock Newsroom, Jesse Suntele, who portrays Don Bhengu’s son Phila, shared intriguing details about his role in the upcoming season. He revealed that Phila’s relationship with his father will be one of the relationships faced with various hurdles to climb. Further, expressing that the new season gave room for him to interpret his role a lot better as he came to a deeper understanding of the characters’ elements.

Suntele also hinted at increased action, drama, and betrayal, along with a boost in production value that gives the show a more cinematic feel. Viewers can anticipate shifts in character dynamics and the introduction of new cast members.

Fingers are crossed to see what heights Savage Beauty will gain, following the first season’s success list which included a spot in Netflix’s Top 10 TV shows across 13 countries and ranking among the top 30 most-watched TV shows on Netflix Nigeria.
