Award-winning Nigerian actress Nse Ikpe-Etim will play the lead in a Nigerian feature titled Force Empire scheduled to debut across cinemas nationwide on August 23, 2024.

The film, which sheds light on the issue of sexual assault faced by women in the male-dominated police force and the workplace in general, tells the story of DCP Mfon, portrayed by Ikpe-Etim, who is resolute in unmasking the perpetrator who assaulted and humiliated her protégé, ASP Halima. Traumatized and fearful, Halima’s plight drives Mfon to expose the culprit and other corrupt officers tarnishing the Nigerian Police Force’s reputation, despite fierce resistance from the top brass.

This upcoming drama feature is the first movie the award-winning actress Ikpe-Etim will be starring in since we last saw her in the Nigerian blockbuster
A Tribe Called Judah.

Produced by Nigerian filmmaker Ndy Akan, the movie will feature Richard Mofe Damijo who delivers a compelling performance as IGP Ejiro and Segun Arinze who plays AIG Omotosho. Other cast members include Mercy Aigbe, Tony Umez, Kunle Coker, Sonny McDon, Aniebiet Francis, and Richard Johnson.

In an exclusive statement with Shock Ng, Akan said, “Force Empire is a film about justice. It aims to highlight and encourage the outstanding police officers within the Nigeria Police Force while also addressing the unfortunate actions of a few that have tarnished its reputation. The film reinforces a vital message consistently communicated by the leadership: that every officer, regardless of rank, will face consequences for any criminal behaviour.”

An official trailer is expected to be released in the coming days.
