Greek-Nigerian basketball star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has once again captured the attention of social media users. This comes after the release of a WhatsApp documentary by Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier this year, which talks about the remarkable life journey of the NBA sensation.

Titled “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey,” the feature-length documentary offers a captivating portrayal of Antetokounmpo’s ascent from humble beginnings to becoming one of basketball’s most dominant figures. 

Scheduled for its world premiere exclusively on Prime Video on February 19, the documentary will be accessible in over 240 countries and territories.

The film chronicles the incredible story of the two-time NBA MVP, whose contributions were instrumental in leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a championship victory in 2021. 

Despite his current status as a global celebrity and sports icon, Antetokounmpo’s origins trace back to a challenging upbringing in the streets of Athens, Greece. Raised on the fringes of society by Nigerian immigrant parents striving for a better future, Giannis and his three brothers experienced firsthand the hardships of life.

“Giannis: The Marvelous Journey” offers viewers an intimate insight into Antetokounmpo’s life, featuring interviews with notable basketball personalities such as Jason Kidd, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Vin Baker, Ernie Johnson, and others.

Additionally, the documentary includes heartfelt conversations with the NBA star himself, as well as his entire family, including his mother Veronica Antetokounmpo, brothers Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex Antetokounmpo, and his fiancée Mariah Riddlesprigger.
