Harry Kane Wins 2026 Ballon d’Or See Full List of Winners

Bayern Munich and England captain Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or award, beating Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal to the prestigious award on Monday evening at the 70th edition ceremony in London.

Kane’s victory makes him the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to win the men’s award. Meanwhile, Barcelona and Spain legend Alexia Putellas won the Ballon d’Or Féminin for the third time in her career.

Kane’s win on the night comes after he was earlier named Attacker of the Year and received the Gerd Müller Award at the London Palladium gala. The Bayern Munich forward edged Manchester City’s Erling Haaland to the award.

The former Spurs captain was a force for Bayern, scoring 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country last season. He helped the German giants to a domestic haul, winning the Bundesliga title, German Cup and German Super Cup. He also led England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup, beating Kylian Mbappé’s France to the bronze prize in a 10-goal thriller.

Real Madrid’s Mbappé would come second, followed by Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who also won the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best footballer under 21, for the third year in a row.

Spain dominated the individual awards, with senior men’s national team coach Luis de la Fuente and goalkeeper Unai Simón also winning the Coach and Goalkeeper of the Year awards in London. De la Fuente took Coach of the Year after leading La Roja to the 2026 Mundial unbeaten, while Simón received Goalkeeper of the Year. Paris Saint-Germain claimed Team of the Year.
