Barcelona and streaming giant Spotify have turned their spotlight to the vibrant music scene in Africa, particularly Nigeria, unveiling the ‘Barça African Connect’ playlist. This innovative project not only explores the intersection of football and music but also delves into the personal stories of acclaimed Nigerian artists.

The synergy between football and music is highlighted in this partnership, where Spotify and FC Barcelona showcase breakthrough artists who are also avid fans of the club. The playlist features multi-platinum South African singer Ch’cco, multi-award-winning Nigerian songstress Teni, and the highly-rated Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, along with South African songstress Pabi Cooper.

Footballers often find solace in music, using it as an escape from the pressures both on and off the pitch. For Barcelona and Spotify, this collaboration is a testament to the cultural exchange between Barca and the diverse music subcultures in Africa.

The Barça African Connect playlist spans various genres, including Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afropop. This musical journey becomes a unique way to connect with fans across the continent, reflecting the rich diversity present within Barcelona’s own team, with players like Alejandro Balde, Jules Konde, and Lamine Yamal, all of whom proudly hail from Africa.
