Q1 2026’s Biggest Tech Releases Show AI Is Becoming the Real Product

Most new releases integrate some form of AI, which, more than anything, reflects the growing centrality of intelligence in consumer tech.

For anyone deeply invested in the tech world, the biggest product releases of Q1 2026 do not appear particularly revolutionary at first glance. On the surface, mobile and computing devices have arrived with the kind of incremental improvements the industry has conditioned consumers to expect: better performance, refined design, and marginal gains in battery life and efficiency. But focusing only on these surface-level upgrades misses the more consequential shift already underway. Beneath the familiar hardware evolution lies a new competitive layer defined less by raw specifications and more by intelligence. Across smartphones, laptops, and wearables, Q1 2026 has marked a turning point where artificial intelligence is the unmistakable centrepiece.

This is what makes the first quarter of the year significant. Most new releases integrate some form of AI, which, more than anything, reflects the growing centrality of intelligence in consumer tech.

Still, it remains an onerous task to stay abreast of the products launched in the opening three months of the year, especially when trying to sift through the noise to identify what truly matters. Here, we look at some of the standout consumer tech releases of the year so far.

LG W6 Wallpaper OLED TV

Ten years after launching the Wallpaper line in 2017, and six years after discontinuing it in 2020, LG’s latest Wallpaper TV is a striking feat of design and engineering, measuring just 9mm (0.35 inches) thick. Nearly flush with the wall, it features a new OLED panel that is up to four times brighter than conventional OLEDs, powered by LG’s Brightness Booster Ultra and Hyper Radiant Colour technologies. It also incorporates True Wireless connectivity, pushing toward a cable-free setup and reinforcing the idea that premium TVs are becoming as much architectural elements as they are entertainment devices.

Samsung Galaxy S26

There are not many upgrades to the Galaxy S26 in terms of design, but the phone’s software and AI capabilities make it a standout flagship for 2026. From real-time language translation to predictive system optimisation and context-aware suggestions, the S26 reflects Samsung’s push to make intelligence a core layer of the user experience. It is less about what the phone looks like and more about how intuitively it understands and assists its user.

Apple MacBook Air M5

Apple’s latest MacBook Air continues its steady progression in performance and efficiency with the M5 chip, but the more consequential changes are less visible. With deeper AI integration across macOS, the device enables smarter workflows, improved resource management, and more context-aware applications that adapt to user behaviour over time. The Air is increasingly positioned not just as a lightweight laptop, but as an intelligent computing companion.

Xreal 1S Glasses

The Xreal 1S builds on the growing momentum in augmented reality wearables, offering a lighter, more refined pair of AR glasses designed for everyday use. With improved display clarity, wider field of view, and tighter integration with smartphones and laptops, the 1S pushes AR closer to mainstream adoption. More importantly, its AI-assisted interface allows for more intuitive interaction with digital overlays, hinting at a future where spatial computing becomes a natural extension of daily life.

Soundcore Sleep A30 Special Sleep Earbuds

Designed specifically for rest and recovery, the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds go beyond passive noise blocking. They combine adaptive sound masking, sleep tracking, and AI-driven audio adjustment to create a personalised sleep environment. By analysing sleep patterns and external noise conditions, the earbuds dynamically adjust sound output throughout the night, reflecting a broader trend where wellness tech is becoming more proactive and data-driven.

Shokz OpenFit Pro Open Earbuds

Shokz’s OpenFit Pro continues to refine the open-ear audio category, balancing situational awareness with improved sound quality. Unlike traditional in-ear designs, these earbuds sit comfortably outside the ear canal, making them ideal for extended wear and active use. Enhanced drivers and AI-assisted audio tuning deliver clearer sound without compromising awareness of surroundings, underscoring a shift toward more ergonomic and context-aware wearable audio.

Roborock Saros 20

The Roborock Saros 20 represents a meaningful step forward in home robotics, focusing on smarter navigation and greater autonomy. Equipped with advanced AI mapping and obstacle recognition, it adapts more effectively to dynamic home environments, improving cleaning efficiency over time. Its ability to learn room layouts, optimise cleaning paths, and integrate seamlessly with smart home systems points to a future where domestic robots require less intervention and deliver more consistent results.
