Portuguese football manager, Jose Mourinho has found himself facing the termination of his contract for the sixth time in his illustrious career, this time at Serie A outfit AS Roma.

Mourinho was sacked by the Serie A giants on Tuesday morning after yet another defeat – the Giallorossi this time losing 3-1 to AC Milan. It has left Roma ninth on the table and Mourinho without a job.

Explaining the decision to sack him, Roma co-owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin said:

 “We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club. We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavors.”

Jose Mourinho has now earned over £85 million in compensation following his latest sacking by Italian side Roma.

Chelsea

This is the most contentious one. Following his appointment by Roman Abramovich, Mourinho became an incredibly well-liked personality at Stamford Bridge.

Before the Russian owner became weary, Jose guided the Blues to win two Premier League titles. He (Roman Abramovich) provided a compensation payout of £18 million to get rid of Mourinho.

Real Madrid

After winning the Champions League during a tremendously successful stint with Inter Milan, Mourinho was drawn to the elegance and splendor of Santiago Bernabeu. It appeared to be the perfect match.

The Los Blancos team under Mourinho was also quite exciting. In his second season, they shattered the all-time La Liga goalscoring record and easily passed the 100-point mark.

However, Florentino Perez was by no means persuaded. After a dismal third season, Mourinho was fired in favor of Carlo Ancelotti, taking home a cool £17 million.

Chelsea (The Return)

Mourinho’s return to West London for a second stint, had no shortage of praise. The Portuguese held his ground at Stamford Bridge, despite his debut campaign being a mixed bag.

In the 2014–15 campaign, he led the Blues to a league double; winning the League title and League Cup. However, that did not please Abramovich, and a few months later, he took another shot.

Even though he only received a little smaller severance of £12.5 million this time, he has still made over £30 million from Chelsea’s firing of him.

Manchester United

Mourinho returned to the Premier League, this time with Manchester United, just a few months after the Blues gave him the boot for the second time. Like everyone else, he had a fantastic debut season.

In his first season at Old Trafford, he won the Europa League, the Community Shield, and the League Cup. However, that momentum quickly came to an abrupt stop.

The Red Devils’ performance in his third season was appalling, and he was fired after just seven victories in 17 Premier League games. Mourinho was compensated by the Glazers around £17 million.

Tottenham Hotspur

Thus, Mourinho’s luck has flipped three times over as Daniel Levy chose the Portuguese to take over for the wildly successful Mauricio Pochettino. The two could not have had more disparate experiences with life.

Things had a good start but quickly went south. In his first season, Spurs finished sixth. A Europa League exit to Dinamo Zagreb was likewise a low point. Mourinho left the team after just 17 months in charge, having made £18 million.

AS Roma

And now that we’ve reached Mourinho’s most recent firing, it doesn’t seem like he will have made a significant profit in comparison to any of his other positions. There have been rumors that he will probably only get about £3 million.

Even though his contract was set to expire at the end of the season, Roma decided that they would be better off without him going ahead.
