Big Brother has finally confirmed the disqualification of Keivo from the ‘Show Ya Sef’ house, more than 15 hours after he was removed by Ninjas following his physical attack on fellow housemate, Tram.

The confirmation came at about 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 29, five days before the October 4 finale, bringing to an abrupt end Keivo’s run in the competition.

But for viewers who have followed Big Brother Naija over the years, there was little doubt about what was coming. After Ninjas removed Keivo from the house shortly after midnight, his name disappeared from the list of housemates available for voting. That was the first clear indication that his time on the show was over.

Physical violence has long been treated as a red line on the show, and even Keivo’s friends in the house appeared to understand that there was no realistic route back for him.

What made his exit unusual, however, was how long Big Brother waited before formally addressing it. Rather than the customary announcement of an offence followed by a punishment, Keivo was simply taken out of the house in the middle of the night. He was not seen again, and Big Brother did not acknowledge the incident to the remaining housemates until Tuesday evening.

When he finally spoke, Big Brother said the incident had “escalated from a disagreement into physical violence” and constituted “a serious breach of the rules governing your conduct and the safety of this house.”

He then delivered the verdict: “Given the nature of that violent act, Keivo, as the perpetrator, was removed from the house and is therefore disqualified from the Big Brother house.”

The incident began with an argument between Keivo and Tram over a black shirt. Tram had suggested that Keivo was wearing his shirt, but Keivo denied taking it and objected to being accused of stealing. The argument escalated, with footage showing Keivo throwing the first punch before other housemates intervened and Big Brother ordered everyone to freeze. Ninjas were subsequently deployed to arrest the situation.

After Keivo was removed, housemates claimed he shoved three Ninjas while attempting to get back inside the house to confront Tram for a second time. That part of the incident was not shown on screen. Viewers only heard the housemates shouting before they later explained what had happened.

Keivo’s disqualification also stands out in the history of the show because of the directness of the violence, which saw the ousted housemate land multiple blows on Tram. 

Every season has produced heated confrontations, angry exchanges and even threats of violence. But housemates have generally stopped short of acting on those threats, aware that physical violence can end their time in the competition.

Previous high-profile disqualifications for violence have involved different circumstances. Tacha was disqualified in 2019 after pushing and pulling Mercy Eke’s hair, while Beauty was removed in 2022 after an argument with Groovy escalated into throwing objects and other aggressive conduct. Faith was disqualified in 2025 after an altercation with Sultana resulted in her falling and hurting her leg.

Keivo’s disqualification is also the second of Season 11, following Nomy’s exit earlier in September for repeated defiance of Big Brother’s instructions.

For Keivo, however, there was no final warning, dramatic verdict or opportunity to say goodbye. He simply disappeared from the house at midnight and vanished from the voting list, with his supporters getting confirmation of his disqualification more than 15 hours later. 

His exit now leaves nine housemates competing for the ₦160 million grand prize.
