Nomy has become the first housemate of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 to be disqualified, following persistent disobedience of Big Brother.
Big Brother handed out the ultimate disciplinary action on Monday evening, September 7, after the Show Ya Sef housemate refused to serve her punishment for coming last in the weekly Head of House (HoH) games. Housemates who come last are tagged Benchwarmer and must wear a costume bearing that title while sitting on a provided bench for the rest of the week.
BREAKING NEWS: Nomy has been disqualified from the Big Brother Naija Show Ya Sef house.
Big Brother cited her repeated defiance of his instructions, including leaving her assigned bench and vest behind while serving as this week’s bench warmer.
Nomy earned the Benchwarmer status for the third time this season on Monday but chose not to accept the responsibilities that came with it. After the games ended, she failed to pick up the costume and bench, prompting a ninja to step in and keep her in the arena. She was later shown leaving the arena anyway, without the Benchwarmer materials. She told fellow housemates Tram and Ricky that she was ready to accept whatever decision Big Brother reached.

About an hour later, Big Brother called Nomy out for disobeying his instructions and asked what her intention was for failing to pick up the materials. She replied that she had no intention of anything while leaving them behind: “I was not thinking about anything when I left it behind. I didn’t have anything premeditated.”
But Big Brother reminded her and the rest of the house that their participation in the game was a privilege. He then informed Nomy, in front of the entire house, that hers had been revoked. “Effective immediately, your privilege is hereby revoked. You have 30 minutes to gather your belongings and leave the Big Brother house. Your time starts now,” he said.
Nomy, accompanied by ninjas, packed her bags and left the house through the Diary Room.
Incidentally, Nomy was also the first housemate this season to earn a Strike, only two weeks into the show, for the same offence of disrespecting Big Brother over Benchwarmer duties.
On Sunday, August 9, Big Brother told her it was unacceptable that she had failed to wear the Benchwarmer costume and sit on the wooden bench provided for the role. While handing down that Strike, he informed her and other housemates that there is zero tolerance for disobeying his instructions. “Consider this your final warning,” he told the season’s first Strike recipient, warning that the next time he had to address that kind of behaviour, the consequences would be far more severe.
That next time came on Monday, and it cost Nomy her place in the house. Her disqualification means she forfeits all winnings earned from sponsored tasks, as well as perks such as post-show media runs.
Nomy’s exit also puts her on a list of disqualified BBNaija housemates that includes Tacha in Season 4, Erica in Season 5, Beauty in Season 7, and Faith in Season 10.
