Lagos-based artist Radar X has dropped his latest single, “Pretty Babes,” a genre-bending track that merges various styles and serves as a prelude to his upcoming EP, THE VYBE MAGIXIAN. The song is an exploration of Radar’s “Afrofuturistic universe,” a space where creativity reigns supreme and innovation thrives.

As the title suggests, the real stars of “Pretty Babes” are women. It is an ode to women of all backgrounds, urging them to embrace their individual identities and celebrate their beauty and resilience. The track’s rhythm harks back to the 2000s with a playful wink at the carefree exuberance of the era, but remains injected with the bold, unapologetic spirit of today’s sound. This demonstrates Radar X’s talent at making globally-resonant pop anthems while retaining his  signature style.

Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Fela Kuti, Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Burna Boy, and Michael Jackson, Radar X has meticulously sculpted his own sonic identity, christened “Afro Future.” This genre blends futuristic elements with Afro influences, fusing storytelling, awesome visuals, theatrical elements, and even comic book art for a great Afrofuturistic experience.

On the verge of establishing himself as one of the most engaging newcomers, Radar X is positioning himself  as a strong contender for inclusion in the 2024 “Ones to Watch” lists.
